Abstract
Approximating itself to project management theory, this chapter contextualizes the BEAP into the multiple types of project contexts and characteristics. Considerations are made as to the project design, regarding the project brief´s components and the constraints about the project´s approval in the context of the portfolio´s pipeline and management requirements. It considers furthermore the 5C´s influencing the project environment and the project structuring, from the simple input-out model, passing through the ICOM, 4-D, the MODest and the 7-S framework. Furthermore, it centers attention in the project´s architecture and on the alignment to the organization, considering seminal aspects as organizational culture; structure and business processes). The phases of project, the structure and roles of each project´s element, and cascades the project´s “architectures” (or systems) into processes and their underlying project/corporate nexus.
