Resumo: Neste estudo analisa-se o comando operacional norte-americano em África, denominado U.S. AFRICOM, ou AFRICOM, e o seu contributo para a Paz e Segurança em África (APSA) e na relação entre este comando e as nações-parceiras africanas, reconhecidas por APN, com uma análise particular na relação entre o AFRICOM e a República de Angola, na defesa das fronteiras transnacionais e das rotas marítimas e no combate ao extremismo violento, à pirataria marítima, ao narcotráfico, ao tráfico de armas de destruição em massa (as WMD), à pesca e à imigração ilegais, à lapidação de recursos naturais, principalmente na orla marítima entre Angola e Dakar, Senegal, onde se encontra o importante choke point que é o Golfo da Guiné, quer como uma área geoestratégica, quer devido a efeitos geopolíticos e geoeconómicos,________________________________________ Abstract: This study analyzes the US Africa Command, US AFRICOM, or AFRICOM, and its contribution to Peace and Security in Africa (APSA) and the relationship between this command and the African partner nations’s (APN), with a particular analysis of the relationship between AFRICOM and the Republic of Angola, in the defense of transnational borders and sea routes and combating violent extremism, maritime piracy, drug trafficking, trafficking in weapons of mass destruction (WMD), illegal fishing and illegal immigration, the stoning of natural resources, especially on the waterfront between Angola and Dakar, Senegal, where the major important choke point that is the Gulf of Guinea, either as a geostrategic area, either due to geopolitical and geoeconomic effects
