A política de defesa regional da África central assenta primordialmente num triângulo organizacional estratégico composto pela Comunidade Económica dos Estados da África Central (CEEAC), pela Comissão do Golfo da Guiné (CGG) e pela Comissão Internacional da Região dos Grandes Lagos (CIRGL). Angola está presente nestes três centros decisórios, sem descurar a sua vertente austral, onde assume papel de relevo na Comunidade para o Desenvolvimento da África Austral (SADC) e, em paralelo, na 5ª Brigada Militar de Unidade Africana. A comunicação proposta pretende analisar o papel de Angola como vértice nas relações político-militares nas duas sub-regiões (CEEAC e SADC) da África Subsaariana. The defense policy of central Africa is based primarily on a triangle formed by the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), the Commission of the Gulf of Guinea (CGG) and the International Committee of the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR). Angola is present in these three decision-making centers, without neglecting its southern slope, which takes on a crucial role in the Community for the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and, in parallel, at the 5th Military Brigade of African Unity, based in Gaborone, Botswana. The text that follows will examine this essential vertex – Angola – the politicomilitary relations in the two sub-regions (ECCAS and SADC) of Africa.
