Abstract/Resumo
Leisure is constitutive of lifestyles, determined by social class, gender, age and other identities ( Stigger, 2002, Marivoet, 2005). This research was intended to know the leisure practices of young students of the degree in Physical Education and Sport (PES) in three Universities (Portugal, Brazil and South Africa), in order to draw a profile of the lifestyles of this population vis-a-vis their representations and cultures. An online questionnaire survey was applied to the universe of analysis. The sample was determined by the saturation criterion. Most respondents view leisure as the act of doing what they want. Sport is the leisure practice most chosen by Portuguese and South African students, while Brazilians go out with friends. In recurring practices there is also the internet. The practice of sport and going out with friends is the hallmark of the lifestyle of young people, printed in leisure practices. As far as we could conclude, we found that PES students in the three countries under study, despite the peculiarities, present cultural and social practices focused on improving the quality of life and well being, ie, practice sports and keep their networks active of sociability.
