Abstract
Brazil has been acknowledged as the forerunner of solidarity economy as this huge South American country has managed to set up and keep its national solidarity economy network, putting together activists of different fields, as well as other stakeholders. Ana Margarida Esteves, a Portuguese sociologist who has studied the Brazilian experiences, will tell you what enabled Brazilians to have and keep such a movement from an outsider's viewpoint.
