Abstract
Data from the survey on patients' perspectives on electronic health records requirements and barriers for adoption in physiotherapy are presented and discussed in view of tailoring information and communication technologies (ICTs) to support physiotherapy for rural elderly. Socio-demographic data on rural elderly suggest that they could not be aware or understand the ICTs based healthcare tools that may improve accessibility and quality of care. By integrating personally controlled health records, patient reported outcomes and educational resources, the understanding and efficient use of health information technologies may increase and medical errors may be prevented.
