Abstract
The end of the Portuguese dictatorship and the establishment of a democratic regime may have been the most intense moment in Portugal’s 20th century. But this successful outcome (meaning that we did end up with a democratic regime, that until today, was not put into question) was also possible because of the emergence of several political parties that secured their democratic position and created a pluralist political system. For us to fully understand all the dynamics of the Portuguese democratic transition, we must work and research on all these political forces and get to know the different dimensions of their growth and existence. With this project I hope to contribute to this wider knowledge.
