Aashima Budal is a Social worker from Nepal. She developed a deep sense of devotion for the problems in the society nearly a decade ago while growing up in Nepal. She shaped her education in social work by starting her bachelor’s in social work from 2009-2012 at Kathmandu University in Nepal. Her educational background includes Erasmus Mundus European Master’s in social work with Families and Children, which is a joint degree program of ISCTE-IUL, University of Stavanger, Goteborg University and University of Makerere. Her great passion is to be the voice of the voiceless and she knows that social work is a very vague discipline, and so she has been trained in a range of areas including migration,human trafficking, discrimination, families and children. She is part of a dedicated and amazing team at CIES, Centre for Studies and Research in Sociology, working on the labor trafficking research project. She has worked extensively in the media, NGOs and INGOs. Her research experience gave her deep insight on lives of immigrants and interest in the study on migration, exclusion and integration.When she has free time, she loves to travel to various places and go on hikes.
