- Clinical experience
1989-1998 General care nurse in university, district hospitals and maternities: neonatology units, men's surgery unit, neonatal intensive care units and delivery rooms. Also highlights the primary health care experience in two institutions in Lisbon and one in Alentejo.
1999 Specialized obstetric nurse in a delivery room in a Lisbon public hospital.

1999 - 2001 assistant at Bissaya Barreto Higher School of Nursing in Coimbra;
2002 - 2005 assistant at Calouste Gulbenkian Higher School of Nursing in Lisbon (ESECGL);
2006 - 2018 adjunct professor at ESEL's maternal health and obstetric department.
- Within the scope of the pedagogical activity developed
- Lecturing of theoretical classes, namely in research, ethics and deontology, obstetric nursing, maternal health, bioethics, and project development;
- Tutoring nurse students in the accomplishment of works of end of course, in the elaboration and development of projects and in the submission of reports of internship for public discussion (master degree);
- Guidance and supervision of students in clinical practice and reporting internships;
- Orientation and evaluation of students research work;
- Guidance and supervision of teaching assistants and guest assistants;
- Coordination of theoretical curricular units (ethics in reproduction, final reflection seminar of the course) and clinical teaching of undergraduate and master's degrees (clinical practice IV- Care of the pregnant / family in situations of maternal-fetal risk);

- Coordination of a degree course that included a partnership with military institutions (2005-2009);

1998 In the scope of the Course of Specialized Studies in Maternal and Obstetrical Health, carried out and presented a qualitative and exploratory study entitled "Care Concept and Operationalization of Obstetric Nurses in the Delivery Room.";
2004 In the scope of the Master of Science in Education of the Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies, concluded and defended the master thesis "Coerce or emancipate? On the Role of Nursing in the Exercise of Parturients Citizenship ". The study was characterized as exploratory and qualitative;
2008 In the context of public exam for the category of Professor-Coordinator in the area of ??Maternal Health and Obstetrical Nursing, a quantitative cross-sectional and exploratory study entitled "Male Perceptions and Practices on Sexual Health" was conducted, presented and discussed;
2017 PhD project in sociology with the title "Men's Social Representations on Sexual Health and Sexual Health Care Access". Approved by the Scientific Committee of ISCTE-IUL;
2018 Participation in the project team "Caring for development during labor: the effectiveness of hydrotherapy in pain management" - ESEL.
