Ana Rita Monteiro holds a degree in Sociology from Iscte – University Institute of Lisbon and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Communication, Culture, and Information Technologies at the same institution. As part of her dissertation, she is researching the intersection between culture and the sociology of the family, with a focus on the representation of family dynamics in Portuguese cinema between 1974 and 2024.
She was a research fellow in the project "ABRIL MATER: Motherhood and Childbirth Before and After the Revolution", developed at CIES and funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).
Currently, she is a research fellow in the project "CareChild – Parental Leave, Social Inequalities, and Child Well-being", funded by the Centre for Planning and Evaluation of Public Policies (PLANAPP) and developed at ICS – Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon.
