Researcher
The main objective of this project was to elaborate a report for the European Parliament, that in 2014 assessed the impact of austerity policies in countries that received financial assistance during the sovereign debt crisis. The report analysed the impact of austerity policies in two areas - labour market and social cohesion -, was focused on the Portuguese case and analysed the period between 2011 and 2013.

EEO seeks to improve the information base for the policy makers of the European Employment Strategy (EES) and its stakeholders. It consists of a network of national labour market experts (known as "SYSDEM" experts) which exploits a wide range of official (notably the "MISEP" network of national ministerial correspondents) and non-official information sources. The network should provide basic inputs on national labour market trends and policies, which are subsequently standardised by the contractor for the final users. These are mainly the Commission (notably for the monitoring of employment policies), and all relevant stakeholders in the context of the EES (through publications and a website).
