Duarte Almeida's main areas of study are geographic information systems (GIS), tourism, agent-based modeling (ABM) and digital twins (DT). He is a PhD scholarship student at the Istar-ISCTE center.
He has a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Business Management (Iscte, 2018) and a master's degree in Computer Science and Business Management (Iscte, 2021).
He participates in the Iscte Spots project, a multiplatform mobile application of serious games to expose the history of Iscte.
He enjoys teaching computer science, with a focus on programming, having lectured several curricular units at Iscte as a monitor and invited assistant professor, and also some modules in the UpSkill initiative, a partnership between IEFP and several universities in the country (including Iscte).
