CV Summary

Francisco is a PhD in Economics, Assistant Researcher at BRU-ISCTE,  and FCT fellow, he also collaborates at the Research Center of the Catholic University of Angola (CEIC-UCAN). He holds a master's degree in Economics from the Católica-Lisbon School of Business and Economics (2013) and a degree in Economics and Management from Universidade Católica de Angola (2009). He was involved in Research Projects on the Diversification of the Angolan Economy, the Angolan Non-oil Fiscal Reform, China-Africa Economic Relations, the Digital Economy, and Human Capital Development.

Since 2022, Francisco is working under supervision of experienced researchers to to carry out his research project on Taxation in Africa and Tax Reform in Angola. He wrote three scientific articles related to the topic of Taxation in Africa, answering the following three research questions: (1) what was the impact of the recent tax reforms on the non-oil tax revenues in Angola? (2) How is taxation affecting democracy indices in Africa? (3) Is there evidence of the Laffer curve of taxes in Africa?
