Luís Clemente-Casinhas holds a BSc degree in Management from Nova School of Business and Economics. He completed both his Master’s and PhD in Economics at ISCTE-IUL, funded by a scholarship from the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). He began his teaching career in 2019 as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Economics at ISCTE-IUL. In 2023, he became an Assistant Professor (Visiting), teaching in both the Department of Economics and the Department of Political Economy. That same year, he also joined the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa as an Assistant Professor (Visiting), and gained additional teaching experience at ISEG - Lisbon School of Economics and Management. Since 2025, he has been an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in the Department of Economics at ISCTE-IUL.
He is a certified Microsoft Office Excel Specialist (2013) and has been awarded the Nova Excelência Prize (2014) and the IBS TOP Master Award (2018). His research focuses on housing markets and inequality, and he is part of an international project led by the London School of Economics.
