Maria de Lurdes Teixeira is gradueted in Sociology (Faculdade de Letras of the University of Porto), master degree in intercultural relations (Universidade Aberta) and doctorate in Sociology from the Instituto Superior de Ciências do Trabalho e da Empresa, Instituto Universitário de Lisboa.
He is a lecturer at the Instituto Politécnico de Saúde do Norte and in Instito Universitário de Ciências da Saúde - CESPU, since 1997, where he has taught a wide range of curricular units in the social sciences and sociology and sociology of health. At the level of post-graduate education has taught several curricular units of its scientific field in graduate courses and the Master in Quality of Management in Health Organizations. At the invitation of the Universidade de Aveiro has held several thematic seminars courses in the area of health sciences.
She is a researcher at the Center for Research and Studies in Sociology, ISCTE - IUL, where she develops research in partnership with the Federal University of São Paulo, in the area of health policies and primary health care, and the Institute for Research and Advanced Training in Health Technologies (IINFACTS-CESPU).
She has participated in numerous scientific events, with presentations of communications and as organizer / moderator of thematic tables. Of the several publications already made, the book "A Reforma do Centro de Saúde: percursos e discursos", resulting from his doctoral research on the reform of primary health care in Portugal.
