CV Summary
I am a PhD researcher in Global Studies. Justice, Rights, Politics - Political Sciences, Communication, and International Relations at the University of Macerata (Italy), where I conduct an ethnographic study on disparities in asylum adjudication within Italian Territorial Commissions, funded by a PNRR scholarship on administrative skills and public policy design (DM 351/2022) granted by the "Ministero dell'istruzione, dell'università e della ricerca" (Italy). My research focuses on decision-making dynamics, operational efficiency, and Street-level bureaucracy in asylum procedures, with the aim of informing policy improvement and innovation.  I am currently on a PhD visit at CIES/ISCTE in Lisbon where I intend to develop a comparative perspective with the Portuguese asylum system with the recent creation of AIMA in Portugal, examining its implications for asylum governance and decision-making processes. My broader interests include migration governance, asylum policies, and the role of bureaucratic institutions in refugee protection. I have previously worked as a journalist in Brazil and published on topics such as citizenship policies and the rise of far-right populism in Brazil.
