CV Summary

 

Noémia Lopes is a sociologist and a researcher at Centro de Investigação e Estudos de Sociologia (CIES-IUL), and also at Centro de Investigação Interdisciplinar Egas Moniz (CiiEM), where she is the head of the Grupo de Estudos Sociais Aplicados (GESA). As researcher, she has coordinated several projects in the field of sociology of health, namely on self-medication, new social uses of medicines and changing therapeutic cultures; as well she participates in projects in the field of sociology of the professions. She is an associate professor at the Instituto Universitário Egas Moniz, where she is responsible for the scientific area of sociology in Degree Courses on Health and in Forensic Sciences. She is the author and co-author of several books, book chapters and scientific articles of national and international scope.
