Architect, Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto (FAUP), Assistant Professor of the Department of Architecture and Urbanism ISCTE–IUL and researcher in DINÂMIA'CET-IUL. The main areas that teaches and researches focus on Architectural Design, developing the elements of architecture, the investigation of the design of buildings and public spaces. Works and investigates in architecture design, conducting the design of public buildings and housing, as well as spaces for public use. Participated as an author in several publications and exhibitions in many countries. Received awards, participated in seminars and conferences in Portugal and abroad.
He has been developping his activity as architect with over 30 years of professional experience and over 20 years of academic experience. At the beginning of his career, between 1991 and 1995, worked in the office of the architect Eduardo Souto de Moura (Pritzker Prize 2011), where he had the opportunity to meet and develop a vast and broad variety of projects.
Since 1997 he settled his own office where the projects undertaken comprehend a wide variety of projects and interventions. Over the last years he developed an academic career in parallel with his professional activity. Along with his students, developed a research that combines his professional experience with the project design discipline.
