Pedro Varela is an integrated researcher at Cies-iscte. He did his PhD at the Centre for Social Studies at the University of Coimbra in Human Rights; a master's degree in Anthropology at Iscte - University Institute of Lisbon; and a degree in Landscape Architecture at the School of Agriculture - Lisbon University. He has carried out research and fieldwork on community conservation, urban agriculture, public policies against racism, the history of the anti-racist movement, artistic circuits and rap. He was also a junior researcher at the Centre for Social Studies at the University of Coimbra.
