Rui Miguel Pascoal holds a PhD in Information Science and Technology from ISCTE-IUL, with the doctoral thesis “Mobile Pervasive Augmented Reality Systems”. He is an Associate Researcher at ISTAR-IUL – Information Sciences, Technologies and Architecture Research Centre, in the field of Software Systems Engineering. He also holds a MSc in Computer Engineering and Information Systems at ULHT with the dissertation “Augmented Reality in Outdoor Sports” and a BSc in Computer Engineering at the Autonomous University of Lisbon. Additionally, he completed a postgraduate specialization in Project Design and Evaluation (2nd cycle) at ISCTE-IUL, and successfully passed the public examination for the Official Title of Specialist in Computer Science. His research focuses on augmented reality systems, information overload, natural language processing, activity recognition, and IPv6 network technologies. Professionally, he has collaborated with organizations such as Hewlett-Packard, IBM and CTT, working in areas including UNIX/NT servers, mainframe operations, identity management systems, business intelligence and enterprise information systems.
