CV Summary

Tiago Correia (PhD in Sociology/2011, Post-Doctorate in Public Health/2012, habilitation in International Health, 2023) is an Associate Professor at the Global Health Department and a researcher at Global Health and Tropical Medicine, both from the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine – Universidade NOVA of Lisbon (IHMT-NOVA). He is also an associate researcher at the CIES-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa.

His teaching and research interests include the relationships among health policies, systems, organizations and professions; medical epistemology and social theory applied to health. On these topics, he has published extensively, coordinated undergraduate and postgraduate courses, participated (as a leader and partner) in Portuguese and international research projects and networks, organized scientific events, promoted dissemination activities and provided technical advice to Portuguese institutions and foreign companies.

He is the editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Health Planning and Management (Wiley), representative member for IHMT-NOVA at the Working Group on Public Communication of the International Association of National Institutes of Public Health (IANPHI), representative member for IHMT-NOVA at the Academic Council of the NOVA University platform for sustainability (NOVA4theGlobe), technical-scientific advisor to the director for the UNESCO Science LP center, and member of the Scientific Committee of the PhD Program in International Health at IHMT-NOVA.

His pathway has been recognized with several awards and distinctions.
