What drives attention? Or The logic of Facebook

To understand the way we interact with our environment it is important to study our attentional mechanisms. Although endogenous attention is important, it is the way we automatically focus on some objects (and not on others, as James would say), that will be the theme of my talk. Emotional stimuli, both pleasant and unpleasant, play a central role in directing our attention.
