Abstract/Resumo
This article presents an overview of the internationalization of MBA education in Mainland China, exposes the main challenges this education is facing and proposes strategies to overcome them. Results reveal two main findings: 1) Chinese MBA educators show a growing interest and awareness in the internationalization of their MBA education, but there is a large dispersion of the internationalization stages of the different business schools; 2) for the majority of the business schools examined, although their mission statements show a considerable awareness and interest in international MBA education, these have not been translated into specific actions well. Our study offers not only a reflection on the current situation but also a platform for other studies to follow.
