Teaching and Learning Ecoscocial Work in Europe
Teaching and Learning Ecoscocial Work in Europe
Description

The rationale of this project is to develop a collaborative European teaching and learning network on Ecosocial Work within the EASSW-SIG on Ecosocial Work. Ecosocial work is an evolving Social Work perspective that strives towards an overall sustainability transition in social work and beyond. Environmental crises have profound social and economic consequences, increasing social inequality and vulnerability; it is therefore important to address these crises in social work education and practice. Despite the climate emergency, there are few courses on Ecosocial Work on European social work curricula and many educators, students and practitioners lack knowledge of Ecosocial Work in theory or practice. The purpose of this teaching and learning network will be to develop, share and exchange insights and materials on Ecosocial Work praxis across the network and more widely a) via an collaborative online teaching and learning platform (such as Moodle Cloud, Canvas Studio, b) by producing an educator’s e-handbook on ecosocial work, and c) through conference presentation and publications.
