Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) supported by technology is an innovative challenge in the area of education. Children who become skilled at SEL improve their relationships with others and academic success. The efficiency of the SEL process in emotional outcomes increase when it take place with young children in early childhood classrooms. SEL is also an effective way to reach young children and youth who are most vulnerable (e.g., problem behavior). Education technology is as a tool that can enlarge learning when used adequately by educators and teachers. In this project, the partners acting at pre-school, school and higher education level, aim to link research, best practice and innovative learning strategies (play-based learning, peer learning, collaborative learning, and partner learning) with education technology and used technological resources (internet, multi-media), in order to: i) Create a platform to support both children and teachers, and other users, to implement the social and emotional learning program, where all outputs produced by the project will be available, and a backoffice where data from all users will be recorded; ii) Based on a Research report, adapt an “Emotional Competencies” methodology. Training will be provided to teachers and other professionals (e.g., psychologists, school mediators); iii) Develop a cross-national training course for teachers to support the use of the platform and to implement the methodology. A manual for the applicators (e.g., teachers, psychologists) will be launched; iv) Elaborate an evaluation protocol, with a qualitative research methodology – focus group – with children, complemented by a quantitative methodology – measurement instruments (e.g., self-report questionnaires); v) Create a tool “Emotechie Serious Play” to develop and promote social and emotional learning in students from 5 to 14 years old. A manual for children will also be released. Online courses represent an excellent source of information and knowledge for individuals. In a time of pandemic, where social isolation is necessary for survival, the availability of MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses), characterized as short-duration courses offered in a digital format, can assist in professional qualification and personal development. It is important to identify high-quality free courses offered by prominent national and international public and private educational institutions. This project aims to identify and present short-duration MOOCs that can contribute to individuals' education. The content will be presented on an online platform and organized into learning paths, categorizing related courses to help individuals find subjects that meet their personal and professional needs. Lastly, it is considered crucial for the provision of high-quality MOOCs to occur continuously, with easy access and regular updates.

Developing Competences for Stress Resilience @SMEs (DeSTRESS) aims to provide an innovative VET-based solution to this problem. Building on existing research, partners will develop a VET curriculum supported by an innovative VET Digital Training Platform using the latest techniques in game-based training and gamification, complemented by a set of practical tools and resources to facilitate the transfer of learning into the workplace. This environment will expose the main psychosocial health risks and their real impact on the individuals’ life and on the companies’ productivity. Players will assume roles, enabling them to think back on their experiences with these specific situations and how it happened, and which solutions are available for each scenario. Besides raising awareness on the problem, the project outputs will enable owner, managers and even decision makers to plan for and to mitigate its occurrence and the negative consequences of work- based stress. For that purpose, both a policy report and recommendations will be produced. A network of facilitators will also be created as an open forum to debate these issues. As such, the project will contribute to strengthening key digital competences in initial VET while preventing the inherent hazards.

Information is considered a fundamental resource in the daily operations of organizations. The difficulty in processing and integrating data from various sources has influenced the emergence of Business Intelligence systems, which aim to aid in data collection, analysis, and understanding, extracting information to support the decision-making process. One way to visualize information is through dashboards, which utilize visual elements such as charts and maps to quickly monitor information. In this context, the visualization of information for effective decision-making by managers is essential in the activities of research, teaching, and university extension. University Extension, as one of the pillars of public universities, has been included in the resource allocation framework, making the definition of indicators a priority. Therefore, this project aims to construct dashboards with indicators and goals for extension activities. The adopted methodology will be Design Science Research (DSR) for the development of the dashboard. The development process is iterative, utilizing different technological tools, and interviews will be conducted with extension coordinators and area experts to jointly define goals and indicators. The expected results of this project are a dashboard or indicator panel related to university extension management. The developed tool will assist UFSC managers in data visualization.
