The hegemonic clash between the US and China is currently the major conflict that marks the dynamics of the Indo-Pacific. One of the regions where this clash unfolds is in South Asia, where the US has recently been losing capacity due to the rise of Chinese influence via the BRI, especially through the joining of other South Asian nations to the project and through the ChinaPakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). In fact, through the CPEC, where Pakistan occupies a central position, China has not only succeeded in diminishing Indian influence in the Indian Ocean but also, through Afghan, Iranian and Russian interest in joining the project, has managed to expand its influence into Central Asia and the Middle East, diminishing US influence through the promotion of regional interconnectivity. In this sense, through an interdisciplinary methodological  analysis, based on a historical, economic, and international relations (IR) approach, this research aims to analyse the factors of China's influence, through BRI, in South Asia, seeking to understand how South Asian regional dynamics have been affected by Chinese regional penetration and how regional interconnectivity plans may allow the resizing of Pakistan's position and the Chinese rise to the hegemonic power in Asia.
