Como se sabe, desde 1 de Janeiro de 2015, Angola tem assento no Conselho de Segurança para o biénio 2105-2016, numa votação ocorrida em Outubro de 2014, onde 190 dos 193 Estados da ONU votaram favoravelmente a sua entrada. Além de Angola, este ano haverá mais dois Estados africanos com assento no Conselho de Segurança num total de 10 membros não-permanentes ou rotativos. Aborda-se no texto um pouco da história do Conselho de Segurança, os objectivos e desafios que se vão deparar a Angola neste biénio 2015-2016 e como a sua participação no Conselho de Segurança poderá contribuir para uma melhor Arquitectura de Paz e Segurança Africanas (APSA).
