O Cemitério dos Prazeres tem a sua origem no ano de 1834, tendo sido implantado sobre o vale de
Alcântara em parte de uma quinta denominada dos Prazeres, onde existia uma Ermida dedicada
a Nossa Senhora dos Prazeres, que dará o nome ao cemitério.
