Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations

In accordance with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the ISCTE - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (ISCTE-IUL) considers the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) fundamental to eradicate poverty, protect the environment and promote prosperity and well-being for all by 2030.

ISCTE-IUL, within the scope of its Sustainability Policy, recognises its responsibility as a higher education institution that intends to contribute actively to the SDG. Among others, these are our main goals for 2018-2021:

  • Teaching: promote the integration of sustainability contents in Curricular Units in the three study cycles;
  • Research: increase research activity directed towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

It will only be possible to fulfil these goals by involving all teachers and researchers in the joint promotion of an increasingly sustainable University. We invite all teachers and researchers to identify, if applicable, the Sustainable Development Goals relevant to each of their Curricular Units and scientific articles through the options available in the Fénix platform and in the Ciência_Iscte platform, respectively.
