Abstract
A comunicação analisa as condições de vida e bem estar dos mais velhos no contexto das sociedades envelhecidas. O desenvolvimento analítico perspetiva teórica e empiricamente os processos de desigualdade social que condicionam experiências sociais das populações mais velhas, avançando com uma proposta de operacionalização de políticas públicas (redistributivas e de reconhecimento) e medidas de intervenção em diferentes níveis e contextos. Faz-se apelo a uma abordagem holística que equacione, simultaneamente, configurações estruturais, condições institucionais e políticas, bem como recursos e contextos interindividuais - nomeadamente, recursos materiais; saúde e autonomia; capacidades e competências de literacia; quadros de interação e participação social.
