Abstract/Resumo
Regeneration of nature and societies requires skills and knowledge that is typically beyond what is considered conventional business skills (Das and Bocken, 2024). It may entail collaboration and partnerships with NGOs, local communities and governments or nature conservation agencies (Das and Bocken, 2024). Ecoprise aimed to analyse the skill and competencies gaps in the two fields in order to promote social entrepreneurship and make regeneration in business more accessible.
The first phase of the project (March 2024-September 2024) was focused in collecting and identifying successful examples of social enterprises and ecovillages, as well as best practices, in addition to analysing the skill gaps in the two fields. Since social enterprises are seen as the hub for social innovation and eco-villages as leaders on sustainable development and regeneration, an interdisciplinary model combining social entrepreneurship innovation and sustainable development/regeneration leadership and knowledge.
Ecoprise intend to to develop a new sustainable social entrepreneurial model and equip a new professional role, the Ecoprise designer, with the necessary skills to act as an expert who supports sustainable and regenerative local development and coexistence of nature and human life.
Presentation as part of the "Science and Research" panel and the "Design for Entrepreneurship & Social Innovation" theme. The research presented is about the results of one year of the Ecoprise project, findings and gaps from interviews with 90 projects (ecovillages, social enterprises and projects and regenerative educators in Europe). The presentation included the outline of the Ecoprise Regenerative Model and the Ecoprise Skillset Designer. More information and results: https://ecoprise.eu/
