Abstract
It is now demonstrated that a growing portion of the working population feels lonely, and that loneliness has negative consequences on organizational performance. Social disconnection is also recognized as an important problem among healthcare professionals, especially after COVID and with the increased use of digital technologies in the health sector. In contrast, there is robust evidence that being socially connected has a significant impact on well-being and physical health. In this talk, I will focus on the importance of promoting high quality social connectedness not only as a matter of public health but also at the workplace as a way of delivering high quality healthcare.
