Abstract
The article reports on the study that investigates that processes of gender roles and family patterns in transnational Hindu families-Hindu Gujarati in Portugal. It examines strategies of identity construction which accompanied the establishment of the communities in the country. It considers the dynamics through which the communities overcame their internal differences to construct common and comprehensive identities as well as the transnational journey of Portuguese Hindus' identity and the adaptation processes of Hinduism to the Portuguese context.
