Abstract
Humans’ inter-relation with non-human animals is a ubiquitous feature of contemporary life, whether through the clothes we wear, the food we eat, how we decide what are invaders or pests, and the company we keep. This Collection invites scholarship (empirical, theoretical, qualitative and quantitative) that sheds light on these relationships in different contexts and settings and from a wide array of disciplinary vantage points, including cultural studies, sociology, anthropology, psychology, history, philosophy, economics, literature, gender studies, indigenous studies and environmental humanities. Research that is not primarily rooted in the humanities and social sciences will not be considered. Clinical or physiological studies are not in scope.
