Abstract
En noviembre de 1922, en el stand de Urbanismo del Salón de Otoño de París, Le Corbusier presenta por primera vez el proyecto Immeuble-villas, uno de los elementos que componen «une Ville contemporaine pour 3 millions d’habitants» [FIG. 01], junto a los edificios en zigzag y los rascacielos cruciformes. Aparece como una nueva tipología de vivienda, que contiene espacios privados (120 apartamentos) y espacios comunitarios: almacén, cocina central, restaurante, lavandería, pista de atletismo, solarium, salas de deporte, de juego, de estudio y de fiestas. Cada apartamento es una pequeña casa con jardín, dentro de un gran edificio de vivienda colectiva. Este proyecto, que nunca llegó a construirse, está en la génesis del pensamiento corbusieriano sobre la vivienda colectiva y en el origen del pensamiento moderno, desempeñando, aún hoy en día, un papel esencial en la producción arquitectónica mundial.
