Abstract/Resumo
With the ever-increasing services demand in broadband cellular systems, future improvements must be focused on other characteristics, other than link-to-link capacities, namely in interference management and/or mitigation. To do so, BS (Base Station) cooperation architectures are a logical approach, in which MTs (Mobile Terminals) in adjacent cells share the same physical channel, contrarily to conventional systems, where frequency reuse techniques must be employed to deal with interference issues. Hence, in conventional cellular systems there’s a decrease in the overall performance and a poorly use of the spectrum. This paper deals with the uplink of BS cooperation schemes employing SC-FDE (Single-Carrier with Frequency- Domain Equalization) and receivers based on the IB-DFE (Iterative Block Decision Feedback Equalization) concept. We present an analytical study of such systems and a simple technique for improving a Gaussian-based model for obtaining the BER (Bit Error Rate) performance.
