Abstract
Abstract
The text that follows presents a bit of the evolution of the current African
unity – and African identity – based on the principles of the Organization of
African Unity (OAU) and the African Union (AU), not forgetting the political
and economic integration of member states Africans, under the principles of
pan-africanism. Now if pan-africanism is a doctrine born immediately before
and after African independence, African unity and identity are already
ancestral. And the text also seeks, synthetically, to address them. Based on
these two important premises (African unity and pan-africanism) that
attempt to analyze the current political, social and geo-strategic stages of the
African countries and how the African borders that emerged from the Berlin
Conference – sometimes contested – pan-africanism, and the dichotomy
between the Africans of the "cities" and the "countryside" could influence
21st century Africa.
