Abstract
This article follows the development of the theoretical framework of a PhD research and aims to understand, experiences, practices and processes of individual and sociocultural integration of refugee girls and women into Europe from the perspective of gender. The life paths of refugee girls and women in Portugal, Denmark and Germany will be reconstituted and analyzed and the different departure, transit and permanence profiles in different dimensions will be compared, as well the influence of as variables within the context of refugee migration projects, namely collective representations, hosts mechanisms and legal provisions, political speeches produced on refugees, in the choices they make. The analysis of the life paths of 30 refugee girls and women in three European countries will lead to a better understanding of the experiences and processes of integration and the particularities legal frameworks and collective representations of European societies in this regard. Comparative analysis of the political, legal, socio-economic and cultural contexts of the three countries is essential for understanding the real reasons for choices, mobility, integration of refugees and their individual, social and two-way consequences. Knowing the real profiles, experiences, practices, constraints and opportunities that refugee girls and women currently face in the migratory path is essential to reflect on social transformation strategies, on individual, cultural and institutional hosts mechanisms and on prevention and protection measures, reflected in a migration agenda.
