Based on the historical research, this chapter analyses the Emergence of a Portuguese Colony in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in the Early Twentieth Century. A relatively unknown description of the working class neighborhood from East Cambridge exemplifies the diversity of the roles played by Portuguese migrants to New England provides a privileged portrait of the relationship between work, residence, and urban ethnicity..
