Abstract
Using data for the Portuguese economy between 1998 and 2009, we analyse the influence of gender on occupational mobility. Specifically, we focus on two questions: (i) is gender a determinant of occupational mobility?; and (ii) are the determinants of occupational mobility distinct between genders? The evidence presented in this study allows us to give a positive answer to both questions.
