Abstract
Organizationalcommitmentisoneofthecentralthemesinthe field oforganizationalbehavior,duetothecentralitythatitsconcept plays inthefunctioningoforganizationalunits.Thisconcepthasoftenbeenassociatedwithimportantorganizationalbenefits, suchas greater involvement,greaterjobsatisfaction,loweremployeeturnover,achievementofobjectivesand,consequently,betterproductivity and performance.Itshouldthereforebeconsideredbyorganizationsandmanagerswhoareconcernedaboutkeepingtheiremployees and, consequently,thelong-termsustainabilityoftheirbusinesses.Theliteraturehighlightsthecomplexityandpolysemyofthe concept oforganizationalcommitment,highlightingtheissueslinkedtoitsdimensionality.Inthissense,itisclearthattheconceptis an interconnectionofmultidimensionalfactorsthatinfluence therelationshipbetweenworkersandtheorganization.Forthisreason, organizations mustpromoteorganizationalcommitmentinordertoguaranteelong-termsuccess.
