Abstract
"Sketching, Natural Intelligence’s Last Bastion" explores the act of sketching as a uniquely human cognitive and cultural practice, emphasizing its role in maintaining natural intelligence in an increasingly digitalized world. From an anthropological perspective, sketching is more than a technical skill - it is a form of embodied knowledge, deeply intertwined with perception, memory, and creativity. Drawing upon theories of material culture, cognition, and human adaptability, the presentation examines how sketching fosters direct engagement with the physical world, contrasting it with the abstract and algorithmic processes of artificial intelligence. Furthermore, it highlights the historical and cross-cultural significance of sketching as a means of communication, problem-solving, and artistic expression. In a time when AI-driven technologies are reshaping creative practices, sketching remains a testament to the irreplaceable role of human intuition, sensory experience, and manual dexterity in meaning-making.
