Abstract
Many marine species are overexploited. Their recovery is vital, being necessary the adoption of measures to achieve fisheries sustainability. In general, non-cooperative agents’ behavior conducts to sub-optimal solutions and, from the society point of view, a better solution may be reached through a cooperative behavior. The study of the recovery of a specie’s stock in a Nation’s waters permits to analyze the consequences resulting from the cooperation and from regulation for the fishing sector. The paper is supported on cooperation models and shows how cooperation brings up procedures that allow the preservation of species and stocks recover.
