Stefania is a researcher at ISTAR-Iscte and an Invited Assistant Professor (2020-...), with an MSc in Architecture (University of Ferrara, 2006), a postgraduate degree in Built Conservation (Roma Tre University, 2007), and a PhD in Architecture (Iscte, 2018, FCT individual fellowship). Her research focuses on critical heritage studies, multi-criteria decision analysis, sustainable heritage management, inclusive design, and digital transformation.
She has professional experience as an architect and team leader in international practices in Portugal, Spain, and Italy, and has coordinated and organised several academic and cultural initiatives, including the Summer School Advanced Analysis for Integrated Urban Development Strategies (6 ECTS, 2023), WOWO: Wood Origami Workshop (2024), and DI-REH: Digital Twin Reinterpretation of Historical Patterns (2026), as well as symposia and exhibitions, such as Unforeseen Paths #1, #2, #3.
She has co-edited two books published by Routledge (2024) and Springer (2026), and published in international journals including the Journal of Urban Design and the International Journal of Architectural Heritage. She is Co-PI of RETIME – Urban Adaptation and Alert Solutions for a TIMEly (re)Action, funded under Horizon Europe (HORIZON-CL5-2023-D4-02-02).
