Alba Zarza Arribas is an architect (Grado en Fundamentos de la Arquitectura, 2015; Máster en Arquitectura), University Specialist in the History and Aesthetics of Cinematography (2020) and PhD in Architecture (2023, International Mention), from the University of Valladolid (Spain).
She is currently an integrated researcher at Dinâmia'CET - ISCTE-IUL, in the research project 'ReARQ.IB - Built Environment Knowledge for Resilient, Sustainable Communities: Understanding Everyday Modern Architecture and Urban Design in the Iberian Peninsula (1939- 1985)' (European Research Council - ERC Starting Grant nº GA949686).
Her doctoral research, funded by FCT - Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (Portugal) and developed at the Departamento de Teoría de la Arquitectura y Proyectos Arquitectónicos of the University of Valladolid and the Centro de Estudos Arnaldo Araújo of the Escola Superior Artística do Porto, focuses on the relationship between architecture and cinema, and specifically on the representation of housing in the Iberian Peninsula during the middle decades of the 20th century.
She has been a researcher at the Centro de Estudos Arnaldo Araújo | CEAA (2018-2024), where she participated in with several research projects. She is associated member of the Instituto Universitario de Urbanística of the University of Valladolid, member of the AIM - Associação de Investigadores da Imagem em Movimento and correspondent for the journal revista Proyecto, Progreso, Arquitectura.
