Tomás is an archaeologist (FCSH-UNL), with a MSc. in Cultural Heritage Management (ISCTE-IUL), mainly focusing on cultural public policies.
At the moment, he’s a PhD candidate funded by FCT, working on a project regarding immovable cultural heritage risk assessment. The intent of this investigation is to create a management resource, that contributes to the mitigation and identification of threats posed to Portuguese cultural heritage integrity and authenticity. Furthermore, it is expected that this investigation contributes to the understanding of potential benefits of a participatory approach to cultural heritage preservation and valorization.
Tomás research interests are centered around cultural heritage, specifically, but not limited to, immovable cultural heritage. Tomás focuses on management resources and processes, assets at risk and mitigation solutions. Additionally, research interests include the legislative and governance paradigms of the cultural sector.
