She is an architect and researcher. Since 2017, she has been an integrated member of Dinâmia'CET, ISCTE-IUL. She holds a PhD in Modern Housing of Portuguese Influence, with merit recognised by the award of the Extraordinary Doctoral Prize (UPC, 2014), and a postdoctoral fellowship on Angolan modernity (University Institute of Lisbon, 2022), both funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). She coordinated international housing research networks as a co-researcher in the R&D project "Mass Housing for the Middle Class in Europe, Africa and Asia" (2018-2021) and as leader of Working Group 1 "Documenting Mass Housing for the Middle Class" of the COST Action [CA18137] (2019-2023). All projects comply with the ArcGIS system for analysing the resilience of housing systems (urban, architectural, and social), grounding urban growth and highlighting similarities and differences across Europe and other continents. The methodology was recognised for its excellence and selected for the Neighbourhood Index at the Oslo Triennale in 2022. She co-edited the books "European Middle-Class Mass Housing: Past and Present of the Modern Community" and "Uncle George's Playground, Mass Housing for Kids". She participated in several collective research projects, such as "ArchWar" and "WomArchStruggle" (funded by FCT), to consolidate and deepen colonial, post-colonial, and gender studies. Recognition from the scientific community for modern housing has led to invitations to conferences, participation in Doctoral and Master's Thesis Juries, supervision of academic work, usefulness on scientific committees, and publications in various scientific journals. As a new challenge, she joined the curatorial team of the film exhibition "Architectures in Portuguese: Emerging Dialogues," within the scope of MCMH and CIALP, presented at the inauguration of the 27th Congress of the International Union of Architects (UIA), with a wide international projection. Hosted at Dinâmia'Cet, she is a guest researcher on the international project "ArchLabour" (funded by the ERC), intending to develop tools that contribute to the "Mapping of Colonial Work" through WP2, and to confirm and process these studies in geographic databases (GIS). She is also part of the research team of the "LabourMap-Macau" project, funded by FCT (2025-2026). Simultaneously, she is developing her proposal "Beyond the Modern Housing Heritage of Portuguese Influence...", submitted to the 5th Competition for Individual Scientific Work, funded by the FCT (2023-2029), which opens new research perspectives in the housing field, interrelating colonial and post-colonial studies with issues of sustainability and energy. Recognition from the COST international network led to the crossing and strengthening of diverse knowledge networks, resulting in an invitation to lead Working Group 2, "Data Collection and Archiving," of CA23145, "CitySenZ," based at Lusófona University (2024-2028). She occasionally develops architectural projects as a parallel activity to her research, complementing her knowledge and the relationship between the two areas.
