Inês Lima Rodrigues (Lisbon, 1977). Architect and researcher. She has a degree in Interior Architecture and Architecture from the Faculdade de Arquitectura da Universidade Técnica de Lisboa (2002), a Masters in Contemporary Housing and Theory and Practice of the Project in Architecture (2007) and a PhD in Architectural Projects (2014), both from ESTAB Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. In the academic field, she has relevant research on colonial and postcolonial housing in Africa and Asia, with post-graduate studies and a doctoral thesis on Portuguese influenced modern collective housing (ESTAB-UPC), with merit recognized as "Premi Extraordinari Doctorat 2013-14. She began the research activity in the group FORM (2007-2013), directly related to the "Modern Form" research branch of the Master's and Doctoral Program of the Department of Architectural Projects, ESTAB-UPC. She participated in several funded R&D projects that allowed in-depth research on modern architecture in South America, promoting its dissemination through books and exhibitions. She has published articles in magazines and book chapters and participates in national and international conferences, promoting the spread of Portuguese influenced heritage. She started teaching at ARCA-Escola Universitária Artes Coimbra as Assistant Professor of Architectural Project and History of Contemporary Architecture (4th-5th years), were also mentored and was part of Master's thesis juries. She carries out Architectural project practice as a parallel activity to research, complementing the knowledge and the relationship between both areas. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at DINÂMIA'CET-IUL, on the Modern Movement in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Portuguese-Angolan tropical architecture, highlighting the work of Castro Rodrigues, Simões de Carvalho and Vieira da Costa, funding by the FCT. A Project methodology is used in the analysis of case studies to (re) know the past and the present and (re) think the future. The legacy of these three authors is representative of the potential of Portuguese-Angolan architecture showing the iconic, tectonic and programmatic qualities of this unique heritage. Co-Coordinator of the Research Project: "Middle-Class Mass Housing in Europe, Africa and Asia", funding by the FCT. She is aiming competitive, and internalization with Cost Action Approved [CA-18137], which she collaborated in the MoU contents, with Ana Vaz Milheiro as Chair. She was selected as a Member of the Management Committee (MC), Core Group (CG) and, based on her knowledge, she was appointed as leader of the Working Group 1 (WG1): "Documenting the MCMH" (2019-2023). She is collaborating with other research groups (Form, IIAS) and institutional partners such as local docomomo, universities; to produce a systematic updating of Housing issues. The consolidation of here knowledge has given a lead to invitations for Jury member of PhD and Master Theses; Conferences, Chair, Scientific Committees in national and international Congresses. These activities increase the internationalization of the field, benefiting from funded projects to consolidate the professional experience in the coming years by the Organization of Scientific Meetings, Workshops, Training Schools, STSM and International Congresses.
