David Ferreira is a Ph.D. student in Political Science at the University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL), specializing in International Relations. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration from the University of Minho, and a Master's degree in International Studies from ISCTE-IUL, with a specialization in European and Transatlantic Studies. His Master dissertation was titled: "Europeanization in Portugal: nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament". He also completed two specialization seminars in the later institution: "The Idea of Europe: from the Lisbon Earthquake to the Lisbon Treaty" and "The Middle East in World Politics".
He is currently a research assistant for the Center for International Studies, and holds a scientific research scholarship from the University's Ph.D. program. He was a visiting doctoral student at the Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies of the University of Tartu (Estonia) (April - June, 2018).
His Ph.D. thesis focuses on nuclear weapons in U.S. foreign policy towards Russia. His main research interests are U.S.-Russian relations and foreign policies, nuclear issues, EU foreign policy, and democratic transitions.
