A relação entre a escola e a construção de género tem vindo a assumir uma grande relevância na contemporaneidade. Em Portugal, são vários os estudos já produzidos sobre esta temática (Ferreira, 2002; Miranda, 2009; Pereira, 2012). Contudo, (1) investigações nesta área têm considerado a escola apenas como contexto; (2) recorrendo à observação de apenas uma turma, as pesquisas tendem a debruçar-se numa faixa etária muito especifica; e, (3) ainda que este tema já tenha sido abordado em diferentes graus de escolaridade, foi detetada uma lacuna ao nível do 1º Ciclo. Com o objetivo de compreender como se constrói o género ‘pela’ e ‘na’ escola ao longo da infância escolar, realizar-se-á um Estudo de Caso numa Escola de 1º Ciclo com recurso à observação de quatro turmas, recolha de materiais, concretização de desenhos com as crianças e entrevistas com as crianças e professores. Assim, este projeto irá contribuir para a sociologia (1) olhando para a escola enquanto instituição com um papel ativo na construção de género, (2) através da cobertura de uma faixa etária alargada e (3) recolhendo dados sobre um período da infância ainda negligenciado.   Orientação: Teresa Seabra (CIES-Iscte) Sofia Aboim (ICS)    

The general objective of the project is to raise awareness of the impact that FCG's Grants have had on the artistic trajectories and artistic labour markets over the last ten years. To assess the individual but also collective impact of these scholarships, their dimensions, main characteristics and scenarios of future evolution, we will seek to identify significant changes in the professional lives of respondents, and how these grants, together with other factors, which we will investigate (such as awards, exhibitions abroad, educational institutions), may have transformed the trajectory of each of the respondents. We also hope to be able to characterize the importance of these grants for the development of arts and culture in the European labour market, through the career profiles of the scholarship holders, which we will obtain through multivariate analysis. We must carry out a survey of the predictive factors that, with scholarships, act as forces to consolidate and expand the success of individuals' career trajectories. The analysis of consistent empirical data - questionnaires and interviews with scholarship holders - will support future decision-making and monitoring.

The Covid19 outbreak has impacted negatively on the gendered and racial inequalities in science. The closures of schools and care homes imposed more care responsibilities on women, which might have translated in a reduction of their productivity vis-à-vis their male counterparts. Drawing from a multi-method approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methods with data triangulation, SAGE19 aims at analysing the consequences of the pandemic on gender inequality in academia and its aftermath.
